It’s a good day to be alive!!!!!

6:55 we start started to get on the coach bus that will be taking us to St. Pancras station where we will board a train that will take us to Paris.

10:26 we boarded our train…we had to go up a ramp that looks like an escalator and I had to hold on to my luggage with all the little strength that I had.

2:00 arrived in Paris!!!

We had to walk for awhile to get to our bus, but we made it even though we were fried by the sun while in the process.

I would have to say that my primary and junior high school French teacher must be really disappointed in me. I said thank you in Spanish instead of in French.

We got to our hostel and we had to wait quite a while for our room to be ready.

When it was ready, we went up and I crawled into bed and slept for a good hour but then I woke up with a raging headache….

5:12 got ready to head out

6:30 the Seine River cruise!

We finally saw the Eiffel Tower in really life. Before I came on this trip, I was worried about having the Paris syndrome…but so far I am very impressed!

After the cruise it was time for supper. We walked around for awhile then we saw a really pretty restaurant, so we decided to look at the menu and before you it we were sitting down. The food was amazing!!

9:00 sitting at the Saint Michel fountain.

9:06 watching street performers.

While I have been on this trip, sometimes it feels like I have such a hard time articulating what I see and how I feel about it. I think it is because it feels so unreal. Sometimes I cannot believe that I am actually here. Spending time in Cambridge, London and now Paris it feels unreal. But just like I said in my first blog ‘this is a dream come true’. While on the cruise I became overwhelmed with emotions, happy emotions. This must be the reason people travel…it is a chance to see how others live and to immerse oneself in their history and their present story. Paris is very much different compared to London…the architecture is more extravagant. The Parisian flare. During this trip I have been constantly impressed with the constant hard work of keeping their history alive. Instead of tearing down the old and replacing it with the new, they found a way to coexist with the old. It is an amazing feeling almost overwhelming to know that you are walking, or even just looking at a piece of history. Enough of my reflection.

9:30 we took the metro to the Eiffel Tower to see it glow at night. It evokes emotions you didn’t know you have. As soon as you see it…you immediately think of your loved ones and you want to show them the beauty that you are witnessing. The sun has set but the Eiffel Tower glows in the dark.

12:09 we are back at the hostel. It has been a long day, and now it is time to go to bed because tomorrow will be a long busy day as well. Much love to you all.

Seen you later,

Abigael

Joyful

Do I have joy in my heart? Do people feel joyful around me? What brings me joy? There are things that bring me joy, but at the same time they bring tears to my eyes. I am a very emotional person. Anyt
