Probably not too late to say Merry Christmas!!!
Christmas Day found me getting ready at 5 in the morning, ready to drive Auntie Bisi to the airport. Traffic was great! Made it to JFK in less than two hours. After dropping her off, Elizabeth and I drove to the mission and parked my car there. From there we went on a little walk:). Took the D train to Bryant Park to see the skaters on the ice. I had a delectable breakfast which consisted of Belgian waffles topped melted chocolate and marshmallows and a nice hot cocoa to go with it. Moving on from Bryant Park, we walked towards THE TREE. Maybe it was because we saw it in daylight but I wasn’t very impressed. But it did remind me of a specific line in the song titled, December in Heaven (I think that’s the right title). “They still light the tree in the city square.” We had sang this song for our school program the first Christmas after Grandma Esther had passed away. Across the street from the tree was the Holiday decoration that Dior was displaying. It was beautiful. From there we made our way to St. Patrick’s, they were having a mass service so we were able to hear the choir sing and the organ music was beautiful. T’was the end of our little walk. Took the D (which was a bad idea) back to the mission house… the train stopped for 30-45 minutes because of some sort of delay. We did take a nice nap while waiting. We ate an amazing lunch at the mission. Us youth decided to traumatize people with our Merry Christmas song so we called people, sang to them and cut it off right away. If you got a phone call from us. You are welcome:). Around 2:30 most of the group went to walk the George Washington Bridge. Zack aka the Viking, Layne, Jaeden, Elizabeth, and I sang for a long time (maybe like 2 hours or longer). Five o’clock rolled around and it was time to go. We didn’t have a family Christmas this year but Christmas was still just as special.
See You Later, Abigael
