Bowery Sunday A day of evangelism.
I still vividly remember my first Bowery Sunday. I had went with Nathan and Mrs. Kaitlyn. I remember holding on tight to her arm, because I was afraid of getting lost and she was also concerned about my safety. It was a new experience, and I enjoyed it very much. Fast forward 5-6 years later, I am standing in the same subway station singing songs, but with a totally different group of people. Different missionaries, house parent, unit boys but Mr. and Mrs. Penner are still here:). Singing is probably one of the most effective ways to spread the gospel. But when your competition are the trains that goes by, you have to sing at the top of your lungs. Towards the end we sang ‘Fill my cup’, and I had this moment of epiphany. Just a few months ago I was in the Fairview church singing the same exact song with the VBS kids and now with a totally different group of people. But, the music still conveys the same emotion. I think we sang for almost an hour.
It was a good day:).
Special thanks to the amazing volunteers aka the unit boys lol.
See you later,
Abigael
