A New Year!!

Hello dear readers, it is a pleasure to once again be writing on this blog. I hope 2024 was pleasant for you in many ways, and I hope 2025 will be a year of growth, joy, and fullness. I have thought long and hard about what my word for 2025 will be. Unfortunately I couldn’t come up with one, so I decided to leave it blank, and that’s how the word “blank” became my word for the year of our Lord 2025.

Merriam-Webster defines the word as “having spaces to be filled in; devoid of content; a piece of material prepared to be made into something by a further operation”. Looking at all of these various ways to describe the word “blank”, it just felt more like the right word.

We just ushered in the New Year and it is like a blank paper ready for us to fill. Or personally I didn’t feel like having one word define an entire unknown year for me. Maybe life just felt to complicated for me; there are many things that I would love to do, things about myself that I would love to improve on, and I knew one word wasn’t going to be big enough to cover it all.

I am leaving it blank for my Creator to color it with his arrays of pastels and gold or whatever color he decides it will be. I want it blank so that he can plant seeds that he chooses in my valleys. In some ways I am leaving it blank because just because I really don’t know how this year will pan out for me.

Maybe you have a word for this year and that’s great. I too have done that in the past, but this year I guess the inspirations wasn’t good enough? I do not know.

Remember that as the days go by, you have blank spaces to fill, so fill them up and let your Creator make you into something meaningful.
